More About Me

What is important is you.

My job is to provide you with the information you need to succeed with your real estate goals. To do that, I strive to continually improve in a wide range of skills including communication, technology, real estate issues, negotiation strategies, and market knowledge. I try to systematize the real estate process so that I can focus my attention on your specific concerns and needs. I also try to have a little fun.

Seattle is my home.

Seattle has been home for over 3 decades and I have lived in the Ballard area for almost all of that time. I Started in real estate with John L. Scott in 1994, married Lucy in 1994, became a father and bought my first house in 1994 too. (1994 was a big year.) My family is the most important part of my life. Our friends, co-workers, and neighbors are all part of the "extended family."

Background

Born and raised in Brookline Massachusetts, I have lived in Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Ames and Iowa City, Iowa. Studied at the University of Pennsylvania, (Biology) Iowa State (architecture), with a BA in English from the University of Iowa and MFA in Theater from Temple University. I have worked extensively as an actor, (proud union member of Actor's Equity and SAG) and also as a cab driver, (Seattle, Philly, L.A.) waiter, (Space Needle and Rainbow Room in NYC.) and also as a construction laborer. I have traveled extensively in Europe, Asia, North and South America, and Australia. (Africa someday, I hope!!)

Activities

I like to golf, love to play chess, but the outdoors is the main focus of my spare time. I love the mountains. Hiking, climbing, skiing,(backcountry--that's me on the homepage pic!--, x-country and downhill.) As a Climb Leader and teacher with the Seattle Mountaineers, I have been fortunate to explore many of the great peaks in both the Cascades and Olympics--often getting to share that experience with first-timers and new climbers. Sharing all of this with my wife and kids is the best part.
